The law entitled Alienation of Affections is a tort action that protects third party interference in marital relationships, such as an adulterous spouse's lover, in-laws and other persons or organizations that cause one spouse to loose affection for the other, the result of the action is usually large monetary awards if three elements can be proven -1 there was love to some degree in the marital relationship 2- that love and affection was eliminated 3-a third party was co-responsible for the loss of the love and affection.
