Audit the HMO Public Programs
The Minnesota Medicaid funded public health programs have no independent third party oversight. The Program vendors (Blue Cross Blue Shied, Health Partners, Medica and UCare) self audit and self report and the Department of Human Services (DHS) has lost control of the program. No one knows but the Vendors what they are really doing with the money because no one can see the data that makes up their reports.
The Minnesota State Legislature has a responsibility to bring accountability and transparency to this program which will cost the state and federal government $ 4 Billion this year.
The Health Plans are refusing to cooperate and the Department of Human Services is not demanding transparency. DHS has been complicit in the problem and can't be trusted to fix it. This is another case of a government program gone wildly out of control. The legislature must step in and require an independent third party audit.
The people of Minnesota must demand this. We must be vigilant of what our legislators are doing and demand they do the right thing and not cave to pressures from the Health Plan lobbyists.
Demand an audit NOW by signing the petition and then call your state representative and your senator and voice your support for audits of the Health Plans unfettered spending of $4 billion of our tax payer money..
Unite with your fellow residents in Minnesota in demanding the 2012 Legislature hold hearings and pass legislation requiring independent audits of the MN Public Health Plan Programs by SIGNING THIS PETITION!
Thank you! We can make our government represent the people once again if we unite and make our voice heard!
