Lotz Reality wants to develop land they own which is now green space and has been for almost a hundred years. They want to change the zone from R11 to R9 so they can build more homes on smaller lots. In the meeting on Aug 2, 2011, Mr. Lotz disclosed that if we agree to let him rezone to R9 he will build nicer and if we don't support the R9 and stay with R11 he "may not be involved" meaning he may sell the land because he would not profit from building fewer homes or "build a not as nice neighborhood". We want the land to stay at R11 so he will hopefully sell the land. 

 Removing these woods would be detrimental to the neighborhood. These woods act as a sound barrier from the interstate. These woods act as drainage for water which floods our streets when it rains. These woods house animals which could possibly be on the endangered species list such as: Owls, Bats and Flying Squirrels. Our streets cannot handle the large amount of traffic, as they are filled with potholes now.  Our schools in this neighborhood are overcrowded even with the use of a vast amount of trailers used as extra classrooms.

Signing this petition is to save the Avon Woods in Hampton, Virginia.
