The reputation of the retail financial services sector in the UK is under attack. A handful of individuals bring the financial advice community into disrepute by leaving negative and hateful comments on the online versions of articles and blogs in the financial services press. They typically hide behind the cloak of anonymity when doing so. Trade press publishers facilitate these attacks by allowing anonymous comments and failing to adequately moderate comments before they are posted. We therefore request that trade publishers in the retail financial services sector bring an immediate end to anonymous comments on their websites and more thoroughly moderate all comments posted to exclude any personal attacks. This petition will be presented to the Managing Directors of Incisive Media, Citywire, The Financial Times and Centaur Media on 2nd December 2013. If you support our campaign to ban anonymous comments and personal attacks from the retail financial services trade press, please add your signature below.
