We as parents, teachers, students, and residents are wanting our voices to be heard by BCSS. There is a push by some members of the community to make our school reopening digital learning only, without the option of in person instruction. We are just asking that the superintendent (Dr. McMichael) and the board members keep the current back to school plan which allows each family to choose in person or digital learning.
I support both in person learning and digital learning, but will send my child to in person learning, because both me and my spouse have full time jobs required to support our family, and home schooling isn't an option for us. Elementary age children require supervision and help with schooling, and deserve to receive it from educated, trained, professional educators for whom we pay taxes to pay salary and for the school buildings and resources.
