Bea Manlapaz, Sophomore, Senator Petition
Hi IWU Community!
My name is Bea Manlapaz and I am a sophomore majoring in business. I hope to be a student senator this year and I would love and appreciate your support through your signature on my petition!
Being an international student myself and a mentor during the International Student Pre-Orientation, I want to be a voice for the international student community, as well as people of color on campus. I continuously expose myself to the student body and its diversity through being involved in the Campus Activities Board (CAB), the Asian Pacific American Coalition (APAC), and occasionally the Spanish and Latine Student Association (SALSA).
I consider myself to be (and people who know me can attest to this too) a friendly, outgoing person with a lot of passion for helping others. I love working with and for people, having volunteered in nonprofits such as NAAAP Chicago in their Wellness Program and Makergirl. I also help run an organization in the Philippines called Securus, where we aim to educate people on mental health. Being a student senator would not only allow me to better express student concerns but help create a safer and more inclusive environment for everyone at IWU.
Thank you for taking the time to read and sign!
