We have so much innate talent within our school, there are so many talented artists and creatives, whose works barely get highlighted. In our massive campus, we have only one small hallway that showcases a few of our students creations. Not only that, our hallways are painted with this bleak, un-engaging, hospital grey colour. This environment makes it feel like much more of a chore to come to school. This reduces morale, collaboration as well as creates a sense of non-community within our school. We go to school for 8 hours almost everyday, it is our second home, so why should it not be a place where we can engage with the campus itself. Why can we not showcase our talent to everyone that walks down the corridors of our school. We should create a sense of pride for our campus, but the only way to create that, is to make it OUR campus. Something for students, by students. Adding touches of colour throughout the hallways, putting up student artwork, adding communal spaces where the students can paint, draw and sketch. These are all things that are easily fixable, so why arent we.
