This petition is representative of all residents of Beech House, Oxford (Unite Students Accommodation) who have made/would like to make a complaint about the construction noise we have been facing for past 9 weeks from the site directly next door. We pay £178 a week for what is meant to be luxury, but instead face constant noise issues. We were not aware of the site prior to moving in or when we selected our choice of accommodation.

It can clearly be see from the plans submitted on the Oxford Council site that the construction going on next to us is located on the same plot of land as Beech House, therefore it is misleading that the staff at Unite have been telling us that they are not/were not aware that the construction would be going on.

The construction noise that is on going 5 days a week from the early hours of morning to the afternoon and with the generator running out of working hours, it has been affecting our health immensely, as our sleep cycles get disrupted every morning, therefore our academics have been taking a toll too as it's impossible to revise and focus after classes, because of the noise throughout the day.

Not only is it the construction noise, but the builders themselves make horrendous noise which is completely inconsiderate. It has been really inconvenient for us so far and we want action taken about it immediately.

We complained numerous times and nothing has been done about it.

If there's nothing that can be done, we want to be compensated for the inconvenience caused to us.
