To Uli Behringer and his company:
We are musicians of every stripe: professional, amateur, casual, and committed. We find the Behringer's actions against Peter Kirn unjustifiable, distasteful, and more than adequate grounds for a boycott of all products sold under Behringer's label or those of any other brand name within the Behringer conglomerate. Your apology to Peter Kirn is a welcome sign, but (as Synthtopia points out) it is simply not enough:
"Kudos to Behringer for apologizing directly to Kirn. Not so much for apologizing to ‘anyone who felt offended’, which is the definition of a non-apology apology."
We ask that Behringer renounce the trademark it has taken out on Kirn's name, and immediately drop its SLAPP suits against Dave Smith Instruments and the users of the Gearslutz forum. Should Behringer not do so before the 20th of March, we encourage all major American retailers who stock Behringer products to drop them immediately. We certainly won't be buying them.
Sincerely yours,
