The city finally caved and Mike Whiteford is officially cleared to bring the Bellwood Ice Rink back. They tried to drag their feet for months but our persistence forced their hand. We won this round so enjoy the ice and keep your eyes open to ensure they actually follow through.

Final supporters
We support bringing back the Bellwood Ice Rink to Bellwood Community Park. This gives adults and children an outdoor recreation to enjoy during the winter months. Please allow for Mike Whiteford to bring this back again this year. Many people in the community complimented on the ice rink and it brought back memories to so many who enjoyed this decades ago.

The city council continues to dodge our emails about the Bellwood Ice Rink. Their silence proves they do not care about our community recreation. We are not going away until they bring this back.

The massive support for the Bellwood rink proves that our community is fed up with city officials ignoring our winter needs. Mike Whiteford is ready to get to work and the council has zero excuses left to keep ignoring us.

I really hope we can put this together. Last year I loved being able to go down and skate FOR FREE with my siblings and not have to drive all the way to Altoona.
My son put ice skates on his Christmas list specifically for this rink! Such a great, wholesome place for kids to play... away from narrowed streets and plow trucks!
It would be such a shame to not have the ice rink again this winter. My family enjoyed many nights on the ice last year. We saw quite a few local kids there every night that we were there as well. There aren't a lot of winter activities available in town to keep kids out of trouble. Please reconsider!!
Remembering when this ice skating rink was so much fun to look forward to after the holidays ... in the 60's! ;-) PLEASE keep it going ... after being on such a long hiatus. (buying skates for the grand kids for Christmas) Thank you.
People complain about not having enough for family and children activities in small towns but then they take something away after one year. I hope they reconsider!
Give kids a safe place to spend time. Simple!

As an Active Duty Service Member from Bellwood. I believe it is a great resource to keep bringing the community together. It also gives the future a positive outlet in the community.
