At Salem Keizer schools, students know that the bathroom soap isn't the greatest. It's pure Borax. Even though Borax cleans well, it irritates student's hands, makes a mess on the counters, and is a general nuisance. As a result, many students avoid washing their hands after using the bathroom, or they will just refuse to use the school bathrooms at all. Students not washing properly creates a potential health hazard and contributes to the unsanitary spread of illnesses, which in turn leads to more student absences and lower productivity.
