Body Farm at FGCU
We, the students at Florida Gulf Coast University, are fighting to have a body farm built to further the education of students in the field of anthropology, forensics, criminal justice, and other related fields. We are up against the University of South Florida but we were promised to have the body farm built 9 YEARS AGO. One of our professors, Dr. Walsh-Haney, is a profound forensic anthropologist in the state of Florida. She came to FGCU with the promises and wishes of having a body farm to help educate her students with hands on training to understand decomposition and how the body reacts to the natural environment. FGCU already has donated land for us to use, but we have not gotten the go-ahead from upper level staff. There is only room for one body farm in the state of Florida and it deserves to go to the smart, hardworking students, who already have the land and will get the resources at FGCU. Please support our cause because this is the only chance we will get to have such a great learning facility.
