NCFCA Competitors: we need your help. I don't know anyone remembers the days of impromptu duo, but it needs to come back. Mrs. Hudson said it was dropped from the list of NCFCA's IEs because it "doesn't help you learn any real-life skills; it's just for fun." With all due respect to Mrs. Hudson, a lot of us disagree. We can see many benefits in learning how to do a ten-minute skit within the confines of given topics and limited preparation time. In the very least, it fosters creativity, quick-thinking, and teamwork. I've done an impromptu duo a few times before, and it was more difficult to adequately prepare for that than most of my extemp speeches.
