Bring our own mugs to Harry's
We, the students of Northwestern Law, kindly request that Harry's Cafe return to its old policy of allowing patrons of the Cafe to use their own mugs to buy and re-fill coffee and other warm drinks. The new policy forces patrons either to use a new disposable cup or to purchase a $10 mug from the Cafe. The increased use of disposable cups is bad for the environment. Forcing patrons who wish to be environmentally friendly to purchase an overpriced mug is unreasonable. The only justification for encouraging patrons to purchase the mug, as opposed to bringing their own mugs, is to get more money from patrons. This type of rationale should have very limited place in a cafe in our law school, since the majority of cafe patrons are students who are not working for remuneration.
