My name is Rosemary Hightower. I am the legal guardian of the eldest of the Sears children Cedrick E. Sears and the former guardian of the other 4 Sears children Jawan, Keyana, Vontorrius and Kiewon Sears. The father of the children committed acts in the past which placed him in the category of being an unfit parent. Mr. Sears admitted to making false allegation about Ms. Hightower last year in court causing me Ms. Hightower to be removed from being the guardian of the 4 younger children. Mr. Sears admitted to making the false allegation in order for him or one of his family members to gain guardianship of the younger children. It has now been a little more than a year since the allegations were made, however the allegations did not stop Ms. Hightower from continuing with her goal of providing a stable, clean nurturing environment for the Sears Children. In less than a year after the death of Ms. Trina Y. Sears the children's mother, she Ms. Hightower is now living in 6 Bedroom Home, but there is one problem the children are not in their new home they are living in State foster care. Ms. Hightower worked so hard to make this happen and she Ms. Hightower will not give up until the children are living together in their home. Ms. Hightower knows the importance of communication after children are separated from their biological parents and have allowed Cedrick the eldest of the Sears children to communicate with his dad even though Mr. Sears may have been the one to make the allegation statement against her. To whom it may concern: I, Rosemary Hightower am writing this letter to express my desire to regain custody of the Sears children. I have an extensive, positive history with all of the children. I took the initiative to get the children the medical and mental health resources they were lacking. I pro actively made sure the children had clothes, shelter, and food. They were taken from me in a critical time of transition from the extended stay hotel to a home. I am in a position to provide a loving, positive, and stable home setting for the children. I have retained custody of their older sibling (Cedrick) since the others have been removed from my custody. I want the children to be in a setting where they ALL are comfortable and able to make progress emotionally, mentally, and academically. I know that I've had nothing but good intentions in respect to following through with their late mother's wishes and I will continue to fight for what is right. I only hope the person responsible for making the decision can find it in his or her heart to do the right thing. The children belong with me not separated living in different homes. Please review documentation notarized by the children’s mother before she passed away as well as the original guardian papers with seals. I am Foster Certified and I love those children as if they were my own. About 2 months ago when I attended group with the eldest of the Sears children Vontourrius asked me if I was going to bring him home. I reside in a 6 Bedroom home and I am ready to take on the responsibility of caring for each one of the children as their mother wished before she passed away on January 18, 2012. Ms. Hightower is a state lic. childcare, Certified Gwinnett County IMPACT Foster Parent, Mother of two one is friends with Cedrick the eldest son call themselves brothers and her other child completed 4 years at a local University, She works full time and is the care taker for Cedrick the eldest Sears child.
