According to information available in the media, Christopher Meloni, who played detective Stabler for over 270 episodes, beginning with the show’s premiere in 1999, could not come to an agreement on a new contract and would be leaving the series. This means no Elliot Stabler in the Fall 2011 season! "Elliot Stabler" has millions of fans and we believe that Law & Order SVU, our favorite show, will NOT survive more then one season without Christopher! We are pleading with NBC to reconsider contract negotiations with Chris in order to bring him back to his fans and to the show's fans!
