We, the undersigned, feel that the existing playground at the top of Hilly Fields Park is tired and dated. It is not as exciting or as safe as some of the newer playgrounds in South London (eg Wandsworth Common, Greenwich, Telegraph Hill and Cornmill Gardens). Lewisham Council has a recently been awarded £1,000,000 of funding to upgrade playgrounds in the borough. We think Hilly Fields play area deserves a share of this money. Hilly Fields is located near several nurseries and schools and serves a wide residential area that is increasingly popular with young families. We want the children to have more fun and a better sense of adventure. A safer, state-of-the-art playground would be of great benefit to the local community.
