Dear Sir or Madam:

I am writing to you on behalf of my neighbors in Star Valley, a planned community in Tucson, Arizona 85757, to request that you give serious consideration to establishing a Fry’s Marketplace at the entrance to our development. The designated location being proposed is on the South side of W. Valencia Road adjacent to S. Wade Road (see enclosed map). We have learned that the area has already been zoned for retail by the County.

Knowing that “retail follows rooftops” our growth rate has been such that Pima County is building an additional road in our community to handle the traffic. Construction is underway! This new road will extend and complete S. Camino Verde from W. Valencia Road/S. Camino Verde to S. Wade Road/S. Camino Verde (see enclosed map). The two main arterial roads, W. Valencia Road and Ajo Highway #86, are high traffic as well and give our neighboring communities, which include: Drexel Heights, Tucson Estates, and Three Points easy access to this centralized Star Valley location and a Fry’s would greatly benefit them as well. In Star Valley there is more land plotted for yet more new home construction on the South side of W. Yedra Road between S. Mountain Star Drive and S. Sugarberry Drive. Also enclosed are two plot maps of the approved commercial build sites for what Pima County may call us as “Star Valley Village” (see enclosed maps).

My neighbors and I have rallied together and the vote is overwhelmingly in favor of having a Fry’s Grocery Store (with your rewards program gas station) as the anchor store. The sign you had posted at W. Valencia Road/Mark Road (see enclosed picture) shows your interest in this general vicinity. Our neighborhood was very disappointed to learn that those plans fell through, however; that may have been a blessing in disguise so as to convince you to build closer to us. WE DON’T NEED AND WE DON’T WANT ANOTHER WAL-MART OR DOLLAR STORE!! WE DO WANT GOOD SHOPPING, GOOD PRODUCT, FAIR PRICING, VARIETY, A CLEAN STORE, AND GOOD SERVICE…WE WANT FRY’S GROCERY STORE!!!!

We would appreciate your serious consideration of our request and hope to initiate a dialogue regarding, and with, additional businesses to include in the shopping area that we prefer to frequent and support (see enclosed list). Again, this is by neighborhood vote and are listed below by type of business and in alphabetical order.

Thank you for your consideration and intent to build in our area. I look forward to hearing from you soon as to when my neighbors and I can shop at “OUR FRY’S” here in Star Valley (aka Star Valley Village)!!

Sincerely,
RoxAnn Hunter
