Build a Pool for Lake Park High School
Lake Park High School feeder communities are requesting the Lake Park High School District 108 school board and administration to prioritize building a pool at Lake Park immediately.
Swimmers require a permanent solution to the cycle of renting sub par pools facing closure or well outside of district boundaries. The current YMCA pool rental facility will be demolished this winter, leaving the boys and girls swim teams without an adequate pool.
Other benefits for swimmers:
- Easier to attend after school practice
- Ability to practice before school, like other teams
- Ability to host home meets
- Opportunity to host Conference, Sectionals & State (revenue generating events)
- Grow the program to attract and retain residents/elite swimmers
- Instilling a sense of pride, belonging & camaraderie
Benefits for the local community:
- Ability to offer year-round swim lessons
- Adult water aerobics, senior programs, and physical therapy
- Formation of a club/rec swim team
- Financial benefits for the surrounding businesses
- Lap swim/open swim/recreation for the public
Inclusivity:
- All ages and physical abilities can use and benefit from a swimming pool
It's been 40+ years since the Lake Park Swim Team was established and the school administration and board need to make building a pool a priority. Please join us in this effort to demand a pool for Lake Park High School.
