The city of Calgary is shutting down basement suites dispite the housing shortage and the high cost of rent. My sister was just told her tennants in the basement of her duplex (who are expecting a baby) have 90 days to be out unless all cooking equipment is removed, not even a toaster. The basement suite is also a huge part of my sister being able to afford her mortage and own a house in Calgary. I myself have twice had the pleasure of looking for a place to rent this year and it\'s out of control. This petition is for people who are sick and tired of a municipal government that is totally out of touch with the realities of being a low or even middle income Calgarian.
