WHEREAS Woodgreen Presbyterian Church, located at 12777 Candle Crescent SW, Calgary, has entered into an agreement with Rogers Communications Inc. to allow for the erection of a 20 metre tall cell tower transmitter in the North East corner of its parking lot located at the intersection of Canyon Meadows Drive and Elbow Drive SW, Calgary; AND WHEREAS there already exist TWO (2) cell tower transmitters located within the church bell tower; AND WHEREAS there are four (4) schools located in the neighbouring vicinity of the proposed additional cell tower transmitter, namely St Catherine Elementary, Canyon Meadows Elementary, Robert Warren Middle and EP Scarlett High; AND WHEREAS there was no community consultation regarding the installation of the existing two (2) cell towers, and minimal consultation and response regarding this proposed additional cell tower transmitter by Woodgreen Presbyterian, Rogers Communications and its agents Cavalier Land, Industry Canada and / or The City of Calgary; AND WHEREAS there is now sufficient evidence regarding harmful effects of radiofrequency (RF) electromagnetic fields emitted by cell base stations on human health, that the World Health Organization has classified them has possibly carcinogenic; AND WHEREAS the majority of the members of the congregation of Woodgreen Presbyterian Church do not reside in Canyon Creek or Canyon Meadows communities. THEREFORE we the following petitioners oppose the erection of a third (3rd) cell tower transmitter on the Woodgreen Presbyterian Church property.
