Cara Henry SBA Class President
Hello everybody! I am Cara Henry, from Muskegon, Michigan. I would love to be the SBA President for our class. It would be a great honor for me to serve our class, and to be able to put my organizational and event planning skills to great use benefiting all of us!
This semester will be one that we remember forever. I know, in our new virtual world, many of our “rites of passage” were stripped away as we became law students. I want to work as hard as possible to close as many of those gaps as possible.
There are so many ways that we can still get to know one another, attend fun events from the comfort of our couch, and still stay connected…almost like being in class together.
I have served in the roles of President, Vice President, and Secretary in many organizations including Community Foundation Advisory Council, Student Government, Kappa Alpha Theta, and even abroad in Poland as our U.S. Student Class President. In these roles, I have planned multiple events, expressed concerns during board meetings, and found ways to bring students together in both personal and academic friendships.
I am in section 1, and I know when I see names from section 2 I think, “who are these strangers?” I would like to eliminate that feeling. In person, we would have the opportunity to get to know one another. By the end of the semester, I would love to have interacted with every single one of my classmates in some way. That way, when we’re back together, we aren’t really strangers at all.
Together, we can get through this semester, and this year. It has been discouraging, and foreign to all of us, but I strongly believe it doesn’t have to be all that bad!
A promise that I would like to make to our class: I will not shy away from any concerns we may need addressed, and I will work to seek resolution for every single concern shared with me. If there are any ideas you would like to see come to life, I will try my absolute hardest to do that for our class!
I will foster a “let’s get it done” environment, and work to provide useful, rewarding, and fun social opportunities.
Sincerely, thank you, for taking the time to read a bit about me and my goals. I can’t wait to meet all of you in person (fingers crossed) soon!
Here’s to a great semester!
