We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to change the law to force all retailers to shut on Boxing Day (December 26th).
Retail workers are forced to work Boxing Day all around the country so that the shops can make as much money as possibly from 'Door Busting Deals'. But they do not consider the lives those people live and the family they have and would like to be with over the Christmas period. Most major shop executives will not be working over the holidays but will force there employees to work over the period and not allow them any holiday or break to spend with there family.
With the world moving on and developing so quickly and life being so short, I think everyone should be allowed the right to spend two consecutive days with there family over the christmas period.
I have been reading through the comments all morning and honestly the stories about missed family time are just brutal. It is weird how often I hear that people actually feel like they are losing their minds working during the holiday because they are so exhausted from the previous day. I am trying to figure out the best way to get this in front of someone who actually has the power to change the law.

Ridiculous that people cant have two days with their kids. Let them stay home and enjoy the holiday. Retailers are just being greedy.
