On Monday April 27, 2020 my Grandson Marcello English was murdered and left laying in the street like trash. His Father, My Son Mervin English is currently incarcerated at the Harrison County Adult Detention Center in Mississippi on Non-Violent Drug Addict Related charges. He has Not been convicted of anything and has been there over a year awaiting trial. Due the direness of the circumstances we are petitioning for a COMPASSIONATE RELEASE Due to the Death of his First Born Child so that he can be home with his other Children and Family that needs him. Also we are begging that the Courts allow him to remain with us on House Arrest due to the deadly threat of Coronavirus which is already in the facility that he is in. They just gave the inmates mask a week ago and this week shut down another block in the facility to quarantine causing extremely overcrowded, Inhumane, dangerous, unsanitary conditions. I am asking everyone who truly knows Mervin English aka Slimm to sign this petition so that we can convey to the courts the necessity and urgency of his release. I pray the Courts will afford my Son Mervin English the same Compassionate Release as they gave to a Wealthy White Former Biloxi Doctor with Political Connections who was already convicted of a Federal Crime. I don't begrudge the Former Doctor or his Family for his fortunate compassionate release due to age risk of the Coronavirus killer. However I wish the world to know that My Black American Son who is Poor in Finances, not Connect Politically, Is also in a HIGH RISK CATAGORY DUE TO HIS AFRICAN ETHNICITY, HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE, AND CRONIC SINUSITUS, AND ALSO HAS NOT BEEN CONVICTED OF ANYTHING. ONLY ACCUSED AND BY OUR LAWS PRESUMMED INNOCENT. PLEASE SIGN THE PETITION TO HELP US GET MERVIN ENGLISH HOME SO THAT HE CAN RESPECTFULLY LAY HIS/OUR PRECIOUS MARCELLO ENGLISH TO ETERNAL REST. I sign this petition because this man is human and deserves to be with his family during this difficult time. The fact that he is convicted of nothing should be enough. Whatever happened to compassion
He isnt a violent offender beloved father a coach and a musical entrepreneur with everything that is going on in our penal system there are beds thats better deserved for murderers and sex offenders
I didn’t personally know Marcello, but I have seen him plenty of times at the Salvation Army Kroc center where I work. And everytime he came in he had the biggest brightest smile on his face, just the sweetest personality. I’m praying for you and your family through this horrific time. Much love.
This is one man that I know dad loves his children and his children love him a family that loves him and need him at this time the death of his son is devastated and he has four more children that needs him desperately at this time Marvin English should be released for Emergency Family Matter

The United States claims they have so much compassion for those in dictatorship and inhumane countries...yet does not treat Americans with that same compassion. We understand there are consequences but not inhumane and unethical behaviour...enough!
All this over marijuana! The government now makes money off of marijuana! My son uss medical marijuana for alleviate symptoms of Tourettes! The cost is ridiculous. The government can sell at a huge profit and that's legal! A man uses it and gets 10!

This man deserves to see his son laid to rest, he deserves to be released if not convicted of any charge, when will the justice system begin to show the same compassion for african american or anyone outside of the white race? WHENN??
