We guard everything we value in our culture with firearms....we need to protect our greatest resource with firearms as well, our children. Our schools are perhaps our most vulnerable to shooting incidents because our laws have declared them gun free zones. This needs to change! If our teachers are responsible enough to pass background checks that allow them to teach and mold our youngest generation, they are certainly responsible enough to carry a weapon to be used to defend the lives of our children in case of attack! Every teacher who passes the conceal & carry course, qualifies with a weapon and undergoes tactical training for a school incident should be allowed to carry that weapon on school property. There should be small handgun safes with biometric locks installed securely in their classroom where their weapon can be secured yet within their reach so it can be used to defend their students. Let our politicians know you agree by signing this petition to have conceal & carry approved for teachers and school staff in North Carolina!

I have spent this week drafting formal policy proposals that outline the requirements for tactical training and biometric storage. These documents are now being reviewed by legal counsel before I submit them to the state house education committee.

The growth of this petition has reached a level that warrants formal engagement with North Carolina legislators. I am currently drafting a letter to the House Committee on Education to request a meeting regarding policy changes. Expect an update once an official hearing date is on the books.

These teachers should have the right to protect themselves and their students with proper training or proof there of.
Let the teacher conceal & carry...why should the enemy/bad person be the only one with a gun
All teachers should be able to protect students. Let them carry!
Please allow teachers to be our first line of defense on our most precious investments............CHILDREN!
We need to put the safety of our children first. Please pass this Law so the Teachers will have a fighting chance of saving lives of other children. Thank you.
I believe every teacher needs to be armed.

It should most definitely be an individual’s choice, but allow them to make that decision.
