I have spent the past several days reviewing the detailed feedback many of you provided regarding the proposed redundancies. The impact of losing such experienced faculty clearly extends beyond our immediate coursework and threatens the future research output of the department. I am currently preparing a formal response to present to the dean before the upcoming proposal deadline.

The momentum behind this petition clearly demonstrates that the department cannot proceed with these redundancies quietly. Your collective response confirms that the value of our lecturers is recognized by the entire community.

These lecturers are the best part of this course. Losing them would be a massive mistake for the department.
greedy move by the dean. hope they realize this will ruin the quality of the program for everyone coming after us.
Ridiculous to do this while everyone is out on fieldwork. They think we arent paying attention but we definitely are.
My dissertation supervisor is one of the ones at risk?? This is actually insane, we need them.
The research output from this team is huge. How are they going to keep that up with fewer people? Makes no sense.

STOP THE CUTS. so much valuable experience about to be thrown away for nothing.
