If you are a resident at High View Apartments I'm sure you are aware of the construction site next door. A few other residents including myself have found the noise disturbing and often outside of the 'approved hours'.
As with any construction site, we have to expect a little noise, however:
- There was no letter or notice given to residents of High View Apartments.
- Construction starts well before 7am some days and before 9am on the weekend, this is against state rules and regulations.
- The noise from passing trucks, street sweepers and other machines are too loud and should not be allowed until after a reasonable hour.
- Incredibly loud truck horns between 6:00 - 7:30am
I have spoken to other residents and we would like to propose alternate construction times.
We propose that construction during the week (including trucks and sweepers) does not start until 7:45am. On the weekend we want to enforce the 9am start time.
If you agree please sign the petition and I will take this to the council!

As a shift worker, the early construction times are extremely disruptive. There is usually construction noise by 6.30am. The large double trucks are parking on High Street and making it difficult to enter/exit the car park. The 'warning signs' on the side of the road are placed on the edge of the driveway entrance causing a potential hazard to occupants at Highview and other road users (one time it was actually placed in the middle of the driveway!).
Im a shift worker so works should start 8am as opposed to 06:45
The air horns are ridiculous. Please stick to the hours you're allowed!

Too much of noise in odd times.
Construction should not start before approved times.

Living right next to the site is a nightmare. Being woken up at 6am by heavy machinery is just not okay. Please respect the local residents.
