In response to the 2004 Asian and Asian American Task Force Report, we strongly urge the Cornell University administration to take a more proactive role in providing greater academic, professional, and social resources aimed at supporting the well-being of the Asian and Asian-American student population at Cornell, which comprises almost 20 percent of undergraduates and over half of graduate students. In particular, we support the following demands: 1. Creation of a centrally located Community Center 2. Creation of an Assistant Dean position devoted to the Asian and Asian American population 3. Expansion of the Asian American Studies Program to Department status
