Say NO to parking permit charges in Cumbria
Cumbria County Council is proposing to charge YOU £25 a year for your residents parking permit. Many people depend on their car and struggle to keep it already; others work hard and pay income tax but are forced to bring their company vehicles home.
In the words of council officials the current disc zones are ‘too big’ and ‘unmanageable’. Instead of looking at these zones and streamlining the regime, they are taking the easiest option and imposing yet another stealth tax on drivers.
We understand that there are costs involved in administrating these permits, but think that other options, such as downsizing these huge cash cows and allowing free permits for first cars and company vehicles.
We, the undersigned, do not believe that drivers living in disc parking zones in Cumbria should bear the cost of the parking enforcement regime.
