As a customer of AEP, I understand that things break and that there can be disruptions of service due to unforeseen instances such as inclement weather. I also understand that I pay for my electrical service that supposedly pays for their employees, equipment and maintenance. What I don't understand is how I'm responsible for reimbursing the company money they had to spend on maintenance and repairs that I'm supposedly already paying for. This petition is in regards to the power outages across OH that started on or around June 29th, 2012 and how AEP is planning on asking PUCO to allow them to charge us, their customers, for their losses, their repairs and maintenance. According to 10TV.com, AEP wants to pass the costs of their repairs to their customers who are already paying. Reaching one hundred signatures shows that many of us are questioning the fairness of these proposed utility charges. It is encouraging to see this many neighbors confirm that we share the same concerns regarding our service costs.

This has got to stop. we are on limited income and my bill doubled this month , I am 70 and my husband is 86 . don't know how to pay $352.75 in one month bill.
Why should customers have to pay for AEP shutting down their coal fired power plant and taking the easy way out and merging with the West Virginia company. They should have spent the money putting scrubbers on the plant they had.
A tremendous amount of respect is given to the employees who keep our power on; however, company expenses should never be passed on to customers. Families are out of work, some out of their homes, and cannot afford the extra expense to keep your company running. Budget management is needed to prevent these expenses from being passed on to your customers.
The impact of losing coal income and people like you abusing folks with your charges because we have no other choice for elec. You must not be able to Sleep at night because their are elderly doing without food and medicine to keep heat. It is heartless and disgusting considering your last years profit. My prayers are with those involved in making this decision.
If coal and natural gas so cheap now, why do my rates keep shy rocketing? This is the corruption we get wit a so called, "de-regulated" energy here in Ohio!
I cannot afford to live if you raise utilities to the cost of rent. We allready had a increase this year.
I've had aep my whole life in va, never was a fan but put up with it. Now my bill went from a car payment to almost a house payment. Yup, I'm ready for change. If you don't find a solution, then I surely will.

This is the only place where your bill will go from 113.50 for December to 503.03 for January Then lose your payment and try to get you to pay another 503.03
