Calling on retailers to cut the cost of fuel
The UK Government’s scrapping of the fuel duty escalator has protected UK motorists from a hike of 13p on the litre since 2010(a saving of around £7 every time you fill up), but we believe that fuel retailers could pass onfurther savings to drivers and that’s why we are calling for these changes to be made ahead of Christmas.
Fuel prices are the greatest cost to motorists and the recent fall in the price of crude oil should be passed on to the motorist.
We the undersigned call on fuel retailers to:
-Pass on savings brought about by the continued fall in world oil prices to motorists at the pump
-Note the work of the RAC which has shown that the price of a litre of petrol could come down by as much as 7p - with scope for the price of a litre of diesel to be cut by almost 6p (A saving of around £4.20 each time you fill up the tank with petrol)
-Bring forward these savings by Christmas in time to reduce costs for motorists over the festive period.
