We, the undersigned, petition the Planning Commission and Planning Commissioners to deny Loveland Ready Mix’s proposal for a LaPorte Pit, Concrete Batch Plant, and Concrete Crushing facility. The proposal to allow industrial use (mining pits, concrete batch plant, and concrete crushing) is not compatible with the surrounding neighborhoods. The proposal does not benefit LaPorte, CO. We feel that the proposal seriously threatens the health, welfare, and safety of our community.

Seeing this kind of momentum feels like a weight lifting off my chest because it proves I am not the only one terrified about what this plant will do to our homes. Neighbors are finally coming together to protect the air we breathe and the safety of our families. We are turning this into a real fight that the commission cannot just ignore anymore.

Why not ask the owners of the project to find land next to their own homes? We are not anti-development or anti-growth, it's inevitable - but this proposal is out of place here, it simply does not belong in this community.
I have lived in this area for over 30 years. One of it's charms is the feeling of being in the country, away from the traffic and congestion of the greater Ft Collins area. I do not want a noisy, dusty pit with large trucks destroying this peace. I vote NO!
The proposed location is our "gateway" to Laporte. This operation would bring enough traffic to bring down our property values and reduce our quality of life. Many of us chose to buy property in Laporte in order to avoid traffic and increased pollution.
Beside the pollution this facility will produce the over 350 heavy truck trips in and out of the facility will be unacceptable to the movement and safety of our residents and visitors that travel CR54G daily. Not a good option for a major travel artery.
Please do not approve the proposed concrete plant in the center of LaPorte. Also, we, as do so many community members, receive much of our food from Native Hill Farm, located next to the proposed site. This would be devastating to this small, family owned farm. Thank you.

No Laporte gravel pit for clean air protections. Don't our children have a right to fresh air and a life without asthma? These trucks coming and going produce particulate matter that damages young lungs and Cache La Poudre is right nearby.
