DNA of a Strawberry Lab Complications
The FSWC class of 2022 agree that the lab Mr. Mitchell has assigned involving the DNA of a strawberry should either be postponed or preferably abolished completely. Due to COVID-19 causing our school to transfer to online classes and making it unsafe to venture into public areas, this lab is not suited to our current situation. Many students are forbidden from venturing into public areas to get the required materials, and it is unsafe to do so in general. In addition, isopropyl alcohol is in critical demand due to the present pandemic and many families do not have access to it, or would prefer not to waste what little supply they might have. The workload required from this assignment has been deemed too much for one individual since it was originally meant to be a group project, similar to many of our labs in the past. Overall, this assignment is displeasing to the FSWC class of 2022 due to the time frame given, the danger it presents to the students, and the workload that is normally meant for a group, which could then negatively impact our mental health.
