Early release for Jason Cropper
On July 24th, 2010, My 26 year old cousin was arrested and charged with murder because he and his wife, Rusty Cropper had taken his medication and Rusty, who also had medical conditions, passed away in her sleep.
The day she passed, when questioned by police, Jason Cropper was in shock, he kept saying its all my fault, its all my fault. When I asked him why he said that he told me it was because he should never have left them where she could take them, he should have told her no. He blamed himself. He was devastated, he loved his wife. We all did.
Jason was not allowed to call his parents. He was questioned with people he thought understood that he had just lost his wife. He was in shock.
His PD who never contacted any of his family, not even Jasons parents, advised him to take a plea bargain for 10 years or he would get a life sentence. He was afraid and without consulting anyone, he took the plea.
Jason has now served half that 10 year sentence for something that Rusty chose to do, he did not force drugs down her throat. If it had been the other way around, our family would never have dreamed of pushing charges againest Rusty as her family did againest Jason. Rusty adored Jason, she would hate this.
We are asking that you revisit Jasons sentencing. Maybe even consider paroling him for the final 5 years. Give him a chance. His Mother has had cancer twice, once while Jason was incarcerated. His father is out of state. Jason has so much family and we are all waiting and willing to help him.
Please sign and help us ask for reconsideration. Thank you
