Everyone deserves a Second Chance...........
This Petition is to ask that the Georgia State Parole Board of Pardons and Paroles to reconsider their decision to deny parole to Mr. Mario Arnold (GDC#1083738/EF#471127) based on the fact that they felt his release would not be compatible with society (O.C.G.A. 42-9-42 (c) ) due to the severe nature of the offense(s) for which he was convicted.
Mr. Arnold (GDC#1083738/EF#471127) took a man's life accidentally as a teenager and I'm not saying that it is acceptable or appropriate to take a life; however, if any man shows sympathy, accepts whatever their consequences maybe, pays their debt to society, while changing for the better throughout the process, then they should be allowed a second chance.
On August 24, 2014 Gale Buckner former Parole Board Chairman released a statement through the Associated Press stating “The Georgia Parole Board is all about second chances.” Now if this is true, then why is it that a person as Mr. Arnold, who shows all the correct signs of becoming compatible with society was denied a second chance to rejoin society?
We (The Society) respectfully disagree with the board's decision, since Mr. Arnold's (GDC#1083738/EF#471127) has been incarcerated, he has evolved from a young teenager, who made bad decisions into a man who now thinks about his choices before he makes them.
Over the years Mr. Arnold (GDC#1083738/EF#471127) has worked hard to better himself by;
(1) Maintaining good institutional conduct.
(2) He has taken (and completed) almost every rehabilitation program offered to him.
(3) He has attempted to start a mentoring program for the younger generation of kids coming into the system.
(4) He has not displayed any acts of violence in over 12 years.
Mr. Arnold (GDC#1083738/EF#471127) also has an outstanding plan to continue his growth into becoming a successful and compatible member of society if released.
(1) Continuing his education to earn his CDL License.
(2) He has two guaranteed jobs if released [1] As a Tow Truck Driver, [2] As a Animal Handler)
(3) Is going to create a mentoring program along side of a church for the younger kids who are heading down the wrong path.
We (The Society) believe that in order to know if any man or woman has been rehabilitated, they have to be given a second chance. We (Society) ask that the Georgia State Parole Board Of Pardons And Parolees give Mario Arnold (GDC#1083738/EF#471127) a second chance to rejoin society by reconsidering him for parole before 2020 and releasing him upon his competition of the work release program.
