Dear fellow students,

It is my great pleasure to announce my candidacy for the position of Executive Vice President of the Student Bar Association for the 2023/2024 year. My name is Daniel El-Sibai, and I am a proud Canadian pursuing the single JD program. For those who know me, you understand that I am a passionate oral advocate for our student body, but more importantly, I am a dedicated listener. I believe that everyone has a story and a unique perspective on the Law School experience, and I am committed to representing these voices.

Currently serving as the SBA Vice President for the 1L class, I have gained invaluable insight into how to make positive changes within our school. This role has empowered me to truly hear the needs of our class and implement solutions that enhance the Law School experience. I have enjoyed every moment of my time in this position and believe it has prepared me to represent our school on a greater stage.

Throughout my time at Detroit Mercy, I have come to understand that putting the students first is of the utmost importance. As your Executive Vice President, my goal is to make the Law School experience as memorable as possible. This extends beyond academics to extracurricular activities, volunteer events, and simply having fun. My priority is to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to make the most of their time at Law School by creating inclusive events that cater to all interests. I plan to find ways to limit costs on students for these events, including through the allocation of SBA funds and seeking out donations. Most importantly, I am committed to being a reliable point of contact for all students, regardless of their concerns or suggestions.

I ask for your support by signing my petition to put me on the ballot for this position. I promise to work to the best of my capabilities and create an environment that fosters inclusivity and enjoyment for all. I am excited to speak more about my platform and look forward to meeting you all at the candidate fair on March 29th.

Thank you for your time, and please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions.

Sincerely,

Daniel El-Sibai
