Fellow Moroccan online shoppers,

As you all have noticed, it has become a routine procedure to pay shipment taxes on every online purchase regardless of its value, following the recent tariffs regulation by the ADII (Administration des Douanes et Impots Indirects). While it is genuinely understandable as to why the regulation has been introduced (to monitor illicit purchasing activities by business owners who purchase their merchandise online in installments under the value of 1250 MAD to evade paying taxes when they actually HAVE to), it is absolutely not an excuse to impose this regulation on personal, non-commercial purchases made by regular individuals (not business owners). This is a sweeping generalisation and an abuse of citizens rights. We suggest a serious reconsideration of this policy while taking into account these two main points:

1. Exempt online purchases under 1250 MAD for personal, non-commercial purposes made by individuals. Individuals who exceed that amount are required to pay taxes.

2. Instead of imposing taxes on all shoppers online, make it a compulsory requirement for online business owners to legally register their business for them to be eligible for legal practice and tax payment. This will not only protect our rights as citizens but also regulate online business activities more effectively!

We need your support to protect your rights!
