Re: Request to extend warranty on HIU
As a collective, we, the residents of Ascot House are writing to request that the warranty of our Heat Interface Units to be extended for a further two years from when the building warranty end.
Since moving into Ascot house, most of us have experienced multiple incidents of leaks from the HIU. Some have reported over six incidents under one year. However, the leaks have never been fixed permanently. We suspect the problem is not a mere coincidence but rather at fault with the manufacturing/installation of the HIU.
Hence, we request that all the HIU should be inspected throughly for leakages and the warranty to be extended for another two years. We should be allowed to use hot water in the property without needing to worry about our HIU leaking every few months.

Seeing so many of you come together to ask for better service for our homes here is truly humbling. I never imagined this would gain such traction but it shows just how much we all deserve peace of mind regarding our heating systems.

Flat 43, we had 3 to 4 reports about leakage from our HIU system. The plummer adviced me that these systems are not suitable for this type of areas where the water is very hard. This makes me worry more as my understanding is we will face more similar cases in the future.
I have had 3 leaks since January all of which leave us with no hot water, it seems to be every 3 months and seems to coincide after running the bath. Constantly on edge that the hot water is going to again and be left 24 hours with no hot water.
Flat 15. Please extend the warranty as the HIU is a constant problem since moving in last year
Flat 58, we have had 3 repairs and are in a constant state of worry of water damage when away.
Had mine replaced after only 3 months in the property. They are poor quality washers. So being so penny pinching. Buy quality washers!
Moved in a few months ago and my HIU is leaking already

My unit has leaked twice now and the floor in the hallway is ruined. I am sick of coming home and checking the cupboard first thing just to make sure there is no water. Something needs doing about these units properly.
