Fight to keep Jacqueline Leake
Mary Ann Evans Hospice management are making Jacqueline Leake redundant from her role as Fundraising Manager.
Liz Hancock, chief executive at the Mary Ann Evans Hospice has reported the following;
"The hospice has had two significant deficit accounting years and all departments have, and continue to be, under review as we look at ways to save money whilst identifying sustainable income".
"Our focus, as always, remains firmly on our clinical services that we continue to provide for our patients and their families".
"Obviously costs continue to rise and much of this is out of our control with the things like the introduction of the living wage and auto enrolment. It is also getting harder to raise funds, especially sustainable funds and sadly this situation is not unique to us".So with that in mind, particularly the statement about raising funds, it makes absolutely no sense to get rid of the person who co-ordinates fundraising events and brings in valuable income for the hospice.
This decision is short-sighted and I am unable to understand how the hospice will benefit.
I have witnessed how extremely hardworking Jacqueline is; she puts her all into everything and does a fantastic job. To lose such an invaluable person and resource would be a travesty. Jacqueline not only does a superb job of fundraising, she's the face of Mary Ann Evans Hospice
