The budget passed and the proposed cuts were rejected. It was a long fight that left us exhausted but staying focused on this outcome kept us going. Please keep watching the state house to ensure this mistake does not return.
Despite the PASS rally held in Harrisburg on February 15th, Governor Corbett has nevertheless proposed to cut more than 50% of state funding for Temple, Lincoln, Pittsburgh, and Penn State. We condemn the governor for his blatant disregard of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's college students. This drastic mistake will result in cuts to faculty and services as well as INCREASES TO OUR TUITION! As students of PA's state-related schools, we will continue to demand that the Governor Corbett and the state legislature only approve a budget that makes higher education a priority. Our future, and the future of Pennsylvania, depend upon it.
We hit 250 signatures today. It is exhausting to keep pushing when the governor stays silent but knowing there are so many of us looking for answers keeps me going.
