Punishment of sex offenders rarely seems to fit the crime. These serious, highly damaging offenses more often than not get a maximum sentence of eight years. The Minimum sentence for an act of grand larceny is two years while an admitted child molester faces a minimum of only 60 days behind bars. After this slap on the wrist, this individual who has destroyed the life of a child and his/her family goes free and lives amongst other potential victims. Please help us rectify this mistake and punish sex offenders in a severe manner more fitting of the crime. We want to raise the minimum sentence to 15 years for all sex crimes.
