Fire Bossier School Superintendents Mitch Downey and Jason Rowland
Through special COVID powers granted in the EBBI section of law for school systems in Louisiana, Superintendents were given the power to create a policy to deny all medical exemptions from masks and vaccines in school.
Superintendent Mitch Downey and Assistant Superintendent Jason Rowland are denying all verbal medical exemptions granted in the governor’s mandate.
Exemptions written by doctors are also being denied.
In an email obtained by a Bossier parent through a FOIA request, Rowland stated that cases must be severe and doctors do not want to sign exemptions because they must be willing to testify to the need in a court of law.
Children with medical issues such as cystic fibrosis, Autism and other developmental issues such as speech development are all to be denied per the policy put in place by Downey and Rowland even though the mandate allows for verbal medical exemptions.
Emails obtained clearly indicate that the employees of the Bossier school system are more concerned about their personal liability of allowing verbal exemptions than they are about the well-being of the children in their care.
This heinous policy is unacceptable and these employees must be held accountable for their decisions.
Sign the petition to terminate the employment of both Mitch Downey and Jason Rowland. The petition will be presented to the Bossier Parish school board once an adequate # of signatures are obtained.
