"Mark Shapiro is a really nice guy." We have been quoted this many times since joining the Blue Jay's this fall. Although I have never met the man I will assume that he is. Unfortunately I believe like many other fans that the Toronto Blue Jay's are ready to win the World Series but in order to do this will have to make a significant investment in an ace pitcher.

Mark Shapiro's small market baseball thinking will not allow the people in the Blue Jay's organization to go and make that type of acquisition as seen by the recent signing of JA Happ.

For this reason I am asking Roger's ownership to fire Mark Shapiro as soon as possible before the Blue Jay's lose the window of opportunity that they currently have and so we don't have to watch and suffer as Cleveland did as he dismantled that team year after year. I cannot support someone who will want to make a team mediocre year after year because he is focused on making just enough money, fill just enough seats, sell just enough shirts.

I want a President of the Blue Jay's who will demand a championship from his staff and give them the ability to get the job done.

Please fire Shapiro and save our team the agony of mediocre policies.

Signed,

Not watching a game until he is gone.

This team has absolutely gone to crap since he and Ross Atkins were hired They don’t care about the chemistry of the team and what the fans pay big money to see Never should have let encarnacion go- they knew what they weee doing- getting morales instead was an insult And also Bautista the face of the franchise -people pay justyo see him-hundreds of us out here on west coast did that -could have signed him as a veteran for this team for such little money Too many changes in short time-we have lost our window- Get some ace pitcher Bring Bautista back for a year and watch fans Get new management

Fails to resign Encarnacion when affordable, Brings in unnecessary players at deadline. Misses out on players that would help at deadline, Creates uncertainty over Sanchez. Had best rotation in AL, now risks messing up pitcher's routines with curious trade for a 6th starter. All inside a year?

Strongly agree with the petition.... The Toronto - and more accurately - the Canadian baseball market demonstrated a significant fiscal and emotional investment in the 2015 Blue Jays. An increased payroll to invest in real top level pitching will pay for itself in very short order. While certainly a $250 price tag for David Price brings with it an element of risk, it's hard to imagine a scenario where this market wouldn't reciprocate and allow the team to quickly realize a return on this investment. Even if the last 2-3 years of the deal were sour, the first 4-5 years are more likely to be spectacular. A Stroman/Price 1/2 at the top of the rotation, given this teams prolific offence could dominate the AL east for the next 4-5 years. The Blue Jays should be flexing their muscles like a Gorilla. Instead we rummaging for 'value adds'. In a non-salary cap league, with this ownership group and a proven market to support, it is unacceptable to not increase payroll to attempt to win now. These 'value' signings smell of a small market mind set, lead by a small market GM. I'm joining AA in departure from the Blue Jays. It is also not a good 'fit' for me. Let's give this petition some legs and save the Blue Jays while we still have this window of opportunity. I'm sure the rest of baseball was quivering at the Blue Jays bold moves the past couple of weeks. I won't be back until the Blue Jays act like a big market club. Being a big market doesn't mean you spend money in an irresponsible manner. However, it does mean you have the resources to put a leadership team in place and provide payroll flexibility when the time is right. The time is now and the Blue Jays are treading water. The right mindset existed for 4 months and then disappeared when Mr. 'Sustainable Mediocrity' Shapiro came to town. He symbolizes a medicore mind set and he needs to go - now.
