Panhandling hurts Canon City. There's several resources such as Loaves and Fishes for the homeless and down on their luck.
Unfortunately those who mean well give money to the panhandlers keeping them coming back for more.
We are petitioning the Canon City government to place signs asking the public to give money to charity and not to the panhandlers.
These signs will create change and act as a reminder to the citizens and visitors of our town to not contribute to the problem.
