The Sustainability Task Force at DIS is trying to change the food stipend program. Currently, those living in International Kollegiums and DRCs are given a food stipend card which can be used only at Netto, Fotex, Bilka, AZ and Toj & Sko. We are hoping to change the program so that students are given the option for monetary allowances towards different programs such as Food Co-op, cash allowance that could be use towards farmers markets, etc. If you support a change in the current food stipend program please sign the petition!! Thanks!!

Updates

November 3, 2012

The Sustainability Task Force thinks they can keep us trapped in these overpriced corporate grocery stores while ignoring our need for real food autonomy. This massive surge of support proves they cannot brush us aside anymore because we are demanding better options than their restrictive cards.

Being forced to use those specific stores is annoying. Sometimes I just want to support local farmers.

This would be so helpful for my budget. Farmers markets are usually cheaper anyway.

Yes! We need better options. Food co-ops are way healthier and honestly better for the environment too.

The current system is so restrictive. I want to buy fresh produce at the market instead of another frozen meal from Netto.
