Fox Chase SIGN TO SAY NO TO OPENING UP STREETS & NEW DISRUPTIVE PARK
If you want to tell our appointed and elected leadership NO...TO OPENING UP OUR STREETS & NO TO A PROPOSED HIGH VISIBILITY & HIGH TRAFFIC PARK RIGHT IN OUR COMMUNITY'S COLLECTIVE BACKYARD THAT PUTS A BIG BULLSEYE ON US...
PLEASE SIGN THIS PETITION AS A SHOW OF SOLIDARITY WITH THE MAJORITY OF OUR NEIGHBORS!
FOX CHASE RESIDENTS... take a moment to reflect on some of the reasons you sought our quaint community when deciding to move here. Now think about the Marley Creek Park - PROJECT NUMBER: P452566 that is being proposed by Anne Arundel County Dept of Recs and Parks backed by our local and state elected officials. They are currently evaluating ten (10) sites around the county for possible new or expanded parks...one of which is the direct backyard of our Fox Chase subdivision! OURS IS THE ONLY SITE THAT DISRUPTS AN EXISTING HOUSING COMMUNITY! Plan 3 of the 5 proposed concepts for development for the woods behind us, will open up MALL RD AND HOSPITAL DR from our current safe dead-ends...to BECOME OPEN THOROUGHFARES! While the amenities of these proposed parks look enticing...placing it literally behind Fox Chase, puts us on the map like a BULLSEYE! Just imagine, our relatively quiet, family-filled, sleeper of a community within our tucked away neighborhood, and those nice NO OUTLET STREET SIGNS would be replaced as a "DESTINATION LOCATION" for not only Glen Burnie residents, but Anne Arundel County, the State of Maryland and beyond!
The direct impact of developing the land behind us in which some parts were once deemed as forest conservation safe lands...could evolve into issues like:
*TRAFFIC
*CRIME
*WILD-LIFE SPILLAGE
*INCREASED WEAR & TEAR ON INFRASTRUCTURE
*CONSTRUCTION MULTI-YEAR PROJECTION IN OUR BACK & FRONT YARDS
*MULTIPLE FOX CHASE NEIGHBOR'S HOMES ON STREETS THAT BACK TO THE WOODS OR BESIDE THE WOODS WOULD BE DISRUPTED TEMPORARILY BY CONSTRUCTION AND PERMANENTLY BY THE INFLUX OF UNKNOWN PUBLIC VISITORS IN THEIR BACK, SIDE, AND FRONT YARDS.
*STAGNANT OR DECREASING HOME VALUES AS SOME RESIDENTS MAY CHOSE TO SELL THEIR HOMES AT THE SAME TIME IF A DECISION IS RENDERED TO MOVE AHEAD WITH DEVELOPMENT DURING A TIME IN OUR ECONOMY WITH HIGH INTEREST RATES THAT COULD BE CHALLENGING FOR NEW BUYERS TO PURCHASE AND POTENTIALLY LEADING TO HOMES SITTING AND ACCRUING DAYS ON MARKET WITH NO CONTRACTS POTENTIALLY TOPPLING OWNER'S EQUITY
