The city just confirmed that local parking exemptions are moving forward and I am truly stunned by the outcome. This happened because you all refused to be ignored. I will keep an eye on how the rollout goes but for now I just want to say thank you for everything.

Parking along Ocean Blvd and the "Golden Mile" is now $4/hour or $20/day for non city residents. Those living with Myrtle Beach addresses that work and spend money in the city are not exempt from this charge.

This is just going to cause money and people to go to other areas like Surfside and NMB and punish the locals.

Residents possessing an Myrtle Beach address should be privy to the same sticker/decal exempting them from the parking fee.

I am honestly a bit overwhelmed by how many of you stepped up to back this. This momentum is entirely due to your willingness to speak out and I am just happy to be along for the ride.

This is ridiculous. I pay homeowners, hospitality and sales taxes in my home town of Myrtle Beach. I should have the same rights as a resident within "city limits"! Come up with a better idea that does not punish locals but helps the local residents avoid problems parking their own cars.!!!!

Beach access sign along the Golden mile reads PUBLIC Beach access, not Myrtle Beach city residents only. Very bad decision by the Myrtle Beach City Council.

I'm in the correct zone to get a decal, but people a couple blocks away are out due to these "out of city pockets." How is that fair? Needs to be for all locals, by area code, or mark the Myrtle Beach line East of the waterway.

I am sickened by this ruling. I surf and I'm already designated to certain areas. Now I have to pay?! It's rediculous and completely unfair to people who live in Myrtle Beach, but just not in the city!

We pay Horry County Taxes that go to our beach maintenance, where do they get off basically limiting my access and charging me double?

I live in Carolina Forest and work on Seaboard and River Oaks also. Pay taxes and fees here like anyone else. I don't feel I should have to pay the same cost as tourists

Beach access should be free for locals and visitors alike. I vacation here annually and sometimes like to visit quieter parts of the beach. Now you want me to pay more, when I'm already paying a lot to vacation here! Can you say gouging?

I pay property, sales, vehicle and hospitality taxes in my home town of Myrtle Beach. I should have the same rights as someone who lives "within city limits". This fee proposal is absolutely ridiculous. I moved here from out of state JUST to have access to the beach. To have to pay for it now on top of everything else is ridiculous. You should be able to come up with a better solution to the parking problem. I spend my money in this town; I should not be penalized for it!!
