Guy T. Fisher was born and raised in the Bronx, in a housing project known as the Patterson Projects. He was the eldest of his five siblings and as the eldest he had a close relationship with his Mother. As an adult he became a Street Hustler. In the 1970's Harlem was burgeoning with African-American pride, swagger and purpose. Guy Fisher became a street celebrity when he became the first African-American to own the world famous Apollo Theater, causing 125th Street to come alive. He drew top talent to the cultural Mecca after he re-opened it in May of 1978 and he held as much star power as the acts he booked. On holidays such as Thanksgiving he gave away turkeys to the poor and on Christmas he gave away toys at the Apollo to the children. During the summers Guy held summer league basketball tournaments for the younger kids as well as enticing the older guys to play their tournaments at Saint Mary's Park in the Bronx. His skills never got him further than the playground, but Guy became a New York City legend anyway. Guy's life and times was profiled on a B.E.T. serious known as American Gangster. But at the time of this profiling of Guy T. Fisher's Life and Times Guy had been arrested for drug related crimes. In 1983 he was convicted, and sentenced to a Life Plus term of imprisonment with no eligibility for parole! But instead of becoming nothing more then a convict with a Life Plus term of imprisonment destine to die in a prison cell! Guy T. Fisher turned his life completely around. He went back to school while in the United States Penitentiary Leavenworth and earned his Associate's Degree and his Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, and after spending eight years in Leavenworth Guy was transferred to the United States Penitentiary Allenwood, and that is where he earned both his Master's Degree and his Doctorate Degree. In 2008 he completed his PhD in Sociology becoming Dr. Guy T. Fisher. Guy T. Fisher is the first and the only person in the history of the Bureau Of Prisons to have ever earned all four of these College Degrees while incarcerated. He has also written a total of nine books and more then fifty screenplays. In 2006 he published his first Book entitled:Reality From Within. A book which contains positive messages to the Youth of America! This Book also contains a total of twenty two other men who were incarcerated in U.S. Allenwood Penitentiary with Guy. This entire Book was published as a means in which to Help Prevent the Youth of America to avoid some of the same mistakes in their Young Lives that led Guy and the twenty two other men in his book Reality From Within to prison cells throughout these United states! For the past THREE DECADES Guy has spent his life in prison. The TIME has come to free Dr. Guy T. Fisher so that he may now do God's Work. He has served his TIME! And he deserves SECOND CHANCE!
