Repair the Geography and TRP Building
The University is investing millions of pounds in new buildings around our campus but it is forgetting to take care of its existing buildings. The Geography and TRP building has been in a gradual state of decline and it is now becoming an unacceptable working environment. During times of heavy rain the building leaks and leads to wet and slippery floors and numerous buckets placed around the building. Not only is this a health and safety issue but is highly embarrassing when showing potential students around the building. Furthermore, the TRP computer room has been closed on a number of occasions due to rain leaks (currently closed) which is highly inconvenient for students and forces them to use the already over-crowded IC and Western Bank library. This in itself puts further pressure on these building further inconveniencing all students who use them. We would like to see investment in the building to ensure that the leakages stop reducing H&S riskes and that we have the full access to our building and its facilities. This petition will be presented to the Head of Estates of the University so that we can collectively represent our concerns over this issue.
