We, the signators of the classes of MECH 3202 and MECH 2409, would like to state how much we appreciated Professor Murat’s teaching in our MECH 3202 (Fluid Dynamics) class this year. Prof. Murat was among the best professors we have at Lassonde and it's a shame that he won't be teaching us next semester. This petition's signators ask that more be done to have him back at York University as a regular associate professor.
It is too rare that we have a Professor who fulfills the 3 requirements of a good teacher: expertise in their field, strong communication skills, and caring about students' success. Prof. Murat is one of few that meets all 3. Students taking MECH 3202 this year and students who were taught MECH 2409 in Winter 2016 by him feel as if they have reached their learning outcomes and so much more from Murat's expertise and devotion to student's success. We would love to see Professor Murat as a regular faculty member in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and ask if there’s anything we can do to support this.
We would like to stress that we have not been asked by Prof. Murat to do this and in fact he has no knowledge at the time of the generation of the list that it is being compiled.

I am honestly overwhelmed by how many people feel the same way about Professor Murat as I do. This energy belongs entirely to you because I never imagined the response would grow this quickly.

Was arguably one of the best professors we've had during our undergrad. He made us love the course, and really learned. He is what every prof should aspire to be and learn from. York Mech Eng could really benefit from having him, and his academic knowledge and background.
Taught material well, made connections to practical applications, cared for student inquiries.
Murat actually made fluids interesting which is a miracle. He explains stuff way better than anyone else in the dept. Needs to stay for sure

One of the best professors that taught us in Lassonde, Really cares about students, builds a positive learning atmosphere, goes above and beyond for his students and their learning methods. Really genuine, and engaging in his teaching methods
